A Site Search involves having a knowledgeable person travel to the location you think may contain an artifact or resource to help you along your way. It requires a person familiar with archives and historical societies and is capable of making their way through all the information located there and pulling out whatever is found pertaining to your family. This service requires someone to research the site, but not someone to research your tree. This type of service requires travel and allocates four hours at the specified location.
A site search does not guarantee that artifacts relating to your ancestor will be found. On the flip side of this statement, is the fact that so many artifacts are sometimes found, the allocated hours are not enough to retrieve all of them. A second trip may be necessary. In such situations, artifacts are catalog, and retrieved according to priority.

Artifact Retrievals can be anything such as an image of the family farm or a gravestone, it could be a deed or land record. This type of service does not require research assistance because you have identified the item and the location.
There are instances when an artifact is cataloged on a web site, including a call number, but on rare occasion the item is not found at the site. In this event services are still charged.
